Join us for a walk that will relate the physical presence of Lake Temescal Regional Recreational Area to the history of the East Bay Hills since the inception of the State of California. Earthquakes, floods, droughts, fires, the Landvale Road, tunnels, trains, streetcars, recreation, architecture, electricity and the little known transition of Broadway Terrace in 1936 will be reviewed. A mostly flat 1-mile walk between Broadway and Broadway Terrace and back, save for the slow ascent from Broadway and the precipitous descent of the Landvale Station Trail toward Broadway Terrace. Meeting Location: Broadway entrance at the northern tip of the park where the car- related spike strips reside. Attendance limited: please pre-register.
