Join us for our October lecture from Amelia Sue Marshall, The History of the Elephant Barn, the New Deal WPA Sculpture, and the 415 Society. The lecture will begin with a focus on the years that the Oakland Zoo was in Joaquin Miller Park, 1925-1939, and will continue to tell the story of the buildings that went on to acquire their own history, importance, and role.

Amelia Sue Marshall is a local history author of East Bay Hills, A Brief History and Oakland's Equestrian Heritage. She is a longtime Oakland Heritage Alliance board member, an engineer, a licensed real estate broker, an equestrian, and a member of Friends of Joaquin Miller Park.
