Before the tour: Join us in participating in the park's 18-year daily Qigong Practice!
Dimond Park is one of Oakland’s most used parks, and due to community support it looks better than ever! Join the Wild Goose Qigong Flock for a morning practice at 9 am. Qigong is a health care practice consisting of gentle yet powerful movements that treat pain, illness and enhance your overall health and longevity. For the past 18 years, 7 days a week, the flock has been practicing under the trees at Dimond Park. No experience necessary. —Gail Whang
At 10am, hear from Friends of Sausal Creek about the restoration of the Sausal Creek watershed with native plants, and from the Friends of Dimond Park who manage teams of volunteers keeping the park at its peak. Dennis Evanosky will speak about the history of the park from the Ohlones. Learn how some of Oakland’s oldest adobe bricks ended up gracing the Scout Hut. —Friends of Sausal Creek; Leslie B. Johnson, Friends of Dimond Park; Dennis Evanosky
