The Oakland Heritage Alliance is now accepting nominations for
the 2009 Partners in Preservation Awards. The awards honor Oakland citizens,
organizations, projects, and programs whose work and efforts demonstrate a
commitment to excellence in historic preservation.
Begun fifteen years ago, Partners in Preservation acknowledges the outstanding
efforts of residents, property owners, architects, developers and organizations
to protect and preserve Oakland’s cultural and architectural heritage.
Individuals who have been involved in an outstanding preservation project
completed within the geographical boundaries of Oakland in the past five years,
or those who know of a corporation, nonprofit organization, public agency, or
individual who has helped preserve national heritage are encouraged to submit a
nomination.
The annual awards recognize success in preserving, rehabilitating, restoring or
interpreting Oakland’s architectural and cultural heritage. To download the

postmarked by May 1, 2009. Winners will be honored at the 2009 Partners in
Preservation Awards in May of 2009 at the Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont
Avenue Oakland.
