OAKLAND HERITAGE ALLIANCE 2005 PARTNERS IN PRESERVATION AWARDS
On Thursday, November 17, Oakland Heritage Alliance (OHA) will present its annual Partners in Preservation Awards to people and projects who have enhanced Oakland and its cultural and historic heritage. The twenty-fifth anniversary awards event begins at 7 pm at Chapel of the Chimes. The 2005 award winners include:
-Chris Buckley, City of Oakland, for preservation advocacy
-Dennis Evanosky, Chris Kos, Julia Parker, and Phil Moser, for preservation advocacy
-Jim Ratliff and Barbara Newcombe for the Cleveland Cascade Website
-Clausen House, Peter Brooks, development director, and Nan Butterworth, executive director, for Residential Rehabilitation and Adaptive Reuse
-New Saint Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church,
Addie Madison, Fundraising Chair, Rev. Flemon Henry,pastor, and Mr. Terance Frazier, major donor for church rehabilitation-Steve & Jennifer Banker, owners, Burton Peek Edwards, Architect, Siegel & Strain, Giampolini/Courtney, and Christensen Construction, for commercial rehabilitation of the Parente Building
-Francis Aviani, owner, Gonzalo Hidalgo, Eco-Builder, Jenny Kassan & Amy Mendoza, Fruitvale Main Street Program, for commercial rehabilitation of the Deep Roots Urban Teahouse
-Stephanie Parrot and Dixon Beatty, owners and Geoffrey Holton, Architect
for green construction techniques at the Beatty/Parrott House

-Ken and Ann Katz, owners, residential rehabilitation of 3801 Balfour Ave.
-Foster Goldstrom, owner, for long-term stewardship and residential rehabilitation: Guy Hyde Chick House .
